And topic #4. Poor Mai. :P

It's now been four weeks since that idiot mad scientists has left this country.

And I still can't forget what happened at the airport.

My sleepless nights continue.

It's been four weeks, you know?!

Why??

I'm really, really busy right now. I have midterms and papers coming up, so this sort of thing is nothing more than a major bother for my studies.

Did I do something bad to Naru? Something so bad that I deserve these sorts of sleepless nights??

Jeez! I wish that guy would stop messing up my new life already!

Not being able to sleep well for this long is starting to show its effects in my school work as well as affect my job performance.

I finally managed to find myself a new job, so I really want to do my best.

Golden Week's coming up soon. During that time, I'll take things a bit easier... or at least I hope so. Also during that time, I'm going to see Masako and Ayako and do all sorts of things. And I going to completely clear my head of that idiot. After all, he's no longer here in this country. So I expect there's little chance we'll ever see one another again. Everything's all over. That's how it's supposed to be......

A quick glance at the clock on the wall tells me it'll be 3PM soon. In which case...

I got up from my chair and quickly headed to the office kitchenette and started to make tea. Only for myself though.

“Ah, Taniyama-san. Are you having tea again?”

The woman who addressed me is called Shimizu, she's a co-worker of mine and has been helping me get settled in to my new job.

“Eh?” I looked at Shimizu confused.

“You're always making tea around this time.”

! I was a bit surprised to hear that. I wonder if it's true though. ......I certainly wasn't aware of it...

“Um... is it... not allowed?” I asked uncertainly. Could it be that I've been doing something I shouldn't be...?

“It's not like that, but I couldn't help noticing that you always look at the clock everyday at the same time. Do you always make tea at this time? A habit from before coming here?”

I didn't quite know what to say. But then, when I was working at SPR, that idiot workaholic always took a break at the same time every day. ......At least whenever he wasn't extremely busy or had a paper due, that is.

“Ah, no, uhh... Umm... I used to always do this at my previous job...”

Uaaahhh, I've unthinkingly been doing here what I'd always done over there...

“I see. But, you know, most of the people here drink coffee... Who're you making tea for?”

Eh? Naturally, I'm making tea for myself...?

A huge question mark was almost visible above my head as I looked at her in confusion.

Shimizu laughed lightly.

“You're really cute, you know?” she asked teasingly as she pointed at the counter.

I was shocked at what I saw there and couldn't think of anything to say. I couldn't believe what I saw there.

“......”

There, sitting on the counter was my own cup, naturally. That part was fine but... there wasn't just one cup there. There were two.

I couldn't help holding my head as I grimaced at that sight. In other words...

“Naru...”

Most likely, I was making tea for that idiot. But of course, he's not here.

*kusukusu*

Shimizu-san chuckled at the look on my face.

“S-sorry,” she apologised, but she didn't look the least bit apologetic. Not that I can blame her. I get the feeling the look on my face is quite something right now.

I sighed and looked at Shimizu-san. “Um... you're more than welcome to have this, if you like,” I said with a grimace.

Can you believe it?? It's been four weeks since that guy's been gone. So what's with this??

Thankfully, she accepted the tea, but...

I just can't believe this...

Just how am I supposed to manage from here on??

Aahhh! Somebody do something already!

Why must plotting and writing be worse that pulling teeth right now? Why?? *sigh*

**Almost forgot to mention that I'm not entirely sure how holidays and uni schedules work over there. The places I checked didn't have full uni calendar details like they do here! >.<;; As a result, I'm hoping I'm at least relatively close on guessing for school term timing. Definitely not sure though. Start of the year is awfully close to Golden Week for uni. *sigh*

^^;; I think timing-wise, she might still be wearing a sweater, but it's probably cutting things pretty close.

Win! Tea is always yummier if it's made by someone wearing a sweater. ^_^

(Could be cotton. Cotton sweaters aren't as yummy as wool or silk or alpaca sweaters, but they're still sweaters. Ooooh! oooh! ooooh! Bamboo! Yes!)
