I think it's a nursery rhyme and those are the words I was taught when the cantata director used it for a warm-up when I was in choral. ^_^ There might be variants in the wording for the rhyme.

When I see "greenwood", I automatically think of the name of Mirkwood Forest before the Shadow returned to the great forest. I don't think that your greenwood is that Greenwood. I'm curious what your greenwood is and will follow you if you don't mind.
